Samantha Jean

Samantha Jean is a Haitian self taught multimedia artist from Newark, New Jersey, and one of the lead installers and curators for The Art Walk Love. She supports the full exhibition process, from sketching layout concepts to artist communication and on site coordination.

She began her artistic journey with small scale graphite illustrations and transitioned into painting during the COVID pandemic, where she fell in love with the process. Rather than focusing on external perception, Samantha uses art as a form of therapy, creating work that serves as an emotional release and path toward healing.

Her work is deeply rooted in personal narrative and centers Black women, exploring themes of femininity, sexuality, self discovery, spirituality, and the full range of human emotion. Embracing experimentation across styles and mediums, she invites viewers to interpret her work through their own lived experiences, believing art is inherently subjective and meant to foster reflection and authenticity.
